PROGRESS UPDATE - 5 SEPTEMBER
THE SPA HAS REOPENED!
Water has been brought up to temperature and is sitting at 37 degrees, so it's now lovely and warm and waiting for you!
Patrons are advised that only half of the jets are currently working due to a pump issue and some legislative changes, however both Council and our Contractor team are working on a sustainable, long-term solution.

PROGRESS UPDATE - 30 AUGUST
There's water in the spa, and we're currently working on gradually bringing it up to the required temperature, whilst also applying chemicals to treat it. This process needs to be done slowly so as not to damage the tiles, grout or sealant used throughout the spa.
Based on this progress, it's quite possible we'll be reopening next week!

PROGRESS UPDATE - 12 JULY
We've been informed by our tradespeople that the supply delays have been quite significant and they're currently waiting for something to arrive from overseas. Unfortunately their tracking information hasn't been providing accurate information, so tiling works will continue in the interim.
When we receive an update from our tradespeople, we'll provide an update here.

PROGRESS UPDATE - 23 JUNE
The refurbishment of the spa is progressing quite well. Unfortunately our tradespeople have encountered a couple of setbacks along the with supply delays which has pushed back our originally planned date for reopening.
Today we were given a progress update outlining what's required for the remainder of the build and all things going well, we anticipate being able to reopen the spa in a couple of weeks. We can't give you an exact date at this stage, but we're hopeful our tradespeople will be able to confirm a reopening date very soon!

We’re excited to announce that the spa at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre is being refurbished!
The spa will close on Friday 29 April refurbishment works.
During this time the saunas will also be closed during these works due to the proximity of the construction area. The steam room will remain open.
WHY WILL THIS TAKE SO LONG?
As this is a major construction project within the centre, sufficient time needs to be allowed for drainage and demolition of the existing spa, clearance of debris from the site, plumbing and pipework, and construction of the new spa.
WHAT DO I DO IN THE MEANTIME?
Patrons will still be able to access all other facilities at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre. If you only visit the centre to access the spa and sauna facilities, we suggest visiting Keilor East Leisure Centre in the interim (84 Quinn Grove, Keilor East).
WHY IS THE SAUNA CLOSING TOO?
Due to the proximity of the sauna to the spa, the refurbishment project requires access on all sides of the spa, and part of this access includes the area between the sauna and the spa, so it needs to close for the duration of the refurbishment project. You will be able to access the steam / sauna at Keilor East Leisure Centre as an alternative.
I HAVE A MEMBERSHIP ONLY FOR ASCOT VALE LEISURE, WHAT ABOUT ME?
Those that have AVLC-only memberships will be able to access Keilor East Leisure Centre for free as part of the refurbishment process. WHEN WILL THE REFURBISHMENT BE COMPLETED?
The construction team, in consultation with Moonee Valley City Council have allowed approximately 45 days for completion of this project. Based on this initial timeline, we anticipate the project will be completed in the week of the 27th June. We will communicate with our patrons via our website, social media channels, EDMs and in-centre signage when we have a confirmed date for completion / re-opening.
